Figs, Figs, Figs!

Did you know how healthy figs are? And how good they taste? I have a big fig tree in my garden and i love using them in various ways. I will show you some of my favorite recipes but first, let me tell you what benefits do you have from eating figs:
They are known as superfoods, of course (that’s why i eat them a lot, and you should too). Figs aid digestion, boost weight loss effort and also prevent colon-related cancers! They contain omega-3 and omega-6 fatty acids, so they are so good for our little precious hearts and for our cholesterol. I can’t tell you enough how healthy potassium is. It prevents diabetes, kidney stones etc. Are there enough reasons why should you eat figs?

That’s how i love them:

1. Fig jam:

Yummy, healthy, and with coconut sugar if needed (because figs are veeery sweet themselves). Try this fig jam recipe, i love it. It’s so quick and tasty.

2. Fig pancakes:
Also easy to make and very healthy. For pancakes try using coconut sugar, spelt flour and goat milk as a substitute for milk, white sugar and white flour.

3. Figs with prosciutto and goat cheese:
I haven’t tasted that (Yet!), but people say that tastes amazing.

4. Drunken chocolate figs:
Try using dark chocolate or make your own like i did and coconut sugar if needed. Try this recipe from Good housekeeping:
